US - API Integrations Implementation Specialist

Open Exchange Inc•Boston, MA
•$70,000 - $90,000•Remote

About The Position

OpenExchange delivers virtual and hybrid events for the world’s largest investment banks, alongside hundreds of corporate clients and organizations. Our platform is licensed by clients to connect to their own event management systems, CRMs, or research workflows, automating event creation, attendee registration, reporting, and the retrieval of recordings and transcripts for compliance archiving. This role is responsible for managing these API integrations end-to-end, from pre-deal scoping to post-delivery enablement and support for complex client issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical implementation, solutions engineering, integration consulting, or a similar client-facing technical role.
  • Strong practical understanding of REST APIs, including reading documentation, building/debugging requests (e.g., Postman), interpreting responses/error codes, and explaining payload/field mapping.
  • Ability to manage both commercial and technical aspects of conversations, being credible with client architects and commercial sponsors.
  • Track record of training and enabling internal teams, with experience in creating actionable written materials (implementation plans, runbooks, incident updates).
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent implementations under time pressure, with competing client dependencies and client oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, capital markets, or another regulated environment, including familiarity with associated security and compliance scrutiny.
  • Experience with webcasting, virtual events, streaming, or a comparable live-delivery domain.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Join Sales on opportunities where an API integration is part of the deal, translating prospect requirements into API capabilities and limitations.
  • Conduct technical discovery to understand client systems, ownership, authentication models, and current event workflows.
  • Produce scoping documents and solution designs for proposals and engineering.
  • Provide realistic commercial assessments of integration efforts for both OpenExchange and the client, including declining non-viable opportunities.
  • Own the integration lifecycle from contract signing to live events, managing milestones, dependencies, and client-side blockers.
  • Guide client engineering teams through OE API modules (event/meeting management, registration, reporting, post-event artifacts), including setup, credentials, and access.
  • Agree on authentication and access models with clients (API credentials, SSO, joining methods).
  • Run integration testing and UAT, including test plan creation, failure case analysis, data flow validation, and go-live readiness sign-off.
  • Support platform migrations, ensuring client events continue uninterrupted.
  • Design integrations considering the practicalities of event execution by both OpenExchange Delivery teams and client planners/producers.
  • Ensure integrations are fully functional for Delivery and Support teams without direct involvement.
  • Build and maintain operational documentation for integrated clients, detailing event creation, data flow, known issues, and normal operating parameters.
  • Deliver training (live sessions, runbooks, decision trees) for support personnel.
  • Act as the senior technical resource within the Support escalation path for integrated clients.
  • Diagnose issues spanning API payloads, field mapping, authentication, SSO, data discrepancies, and access problems.
  • Analyze logs, API responses, and monitoring data to identify fault origins (OpenExchange, client, or integration) and communicate findings clearly to clients.
  • Convert recurring escalations into permanent fixes and provide structured, evidence-based requirements to Product Management.
