About The Position

ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that develops interventions to reduce unnecessary incarceration, enhance community safety, and support treatment and reduced recidivism. Its Wisconsin programs provide case management, counseling, treatment groups, vocational training, and monitoring and supervision. The part-time Apartment Monitor provides community-based services to correctional clients returning to their home communities after release. The role conducts monitoring checks at a supervised apartment and with clients in a transitional living program; tenants are Department of Corrections-supervised offenders with varying risks and needs. The position is up to 20 hours per week, with shifts varying between first and second shift and including weekdays and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds, with cultural competence.
• Access to a personal vehicle.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
• Ability to travel frequently.
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity when interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and other parties while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong decision-making abilities and self-motivation.
• Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of agency information.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience and/or education related to corrections, community-based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Receive day-to-day direction and assignments from the Case Manager.
• Report known or possible client violations and safety or security concerns to the appropriate party in a timely manner.
• Monitor client whereabouts and location security during designated periods and shifts.
• Complete and maintain activity records and other required information.
