About The Position

AIR Communities is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to support residents and team members at its apartment communities. The role uses technology and organized maintenance shops to prioritize work and resolve resident service requests efficiently. Duties include preparing apartments for new residents, completing repairs and routine maintenance, and helping ensure positive resident experiences. Responsibilities may vary based on the technician’s skills, community needs, mechanical systems, and season.

Requirements

At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a facilities or building environment.
Proficient skills in at least two technical trades, such as plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, or carpentry.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks depending on community needs and seasonality, and on-call shifts at least one week per month.
Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on call after hours.
Ability and willingness to move heavy equipment and machinery.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Detail-oriented problem-solving skills and pride in completing repairs correctly the first time.
Commitment to customer satisfaction, strong work ethic, comfort with technology, and ability to contribute as a reliable team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
Complete basic apartment turns according to AIR’s process to prepare apartments for new residents.
With general direction, complete resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing or replacing plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances.
May provide functional or technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of their technical skills.
May assist with managing vendor quality.
May perform move-in and move-out inspections.
