About The Position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repair duties that contribute to the overall upkeep and condition of the apartment community. The role includes completing resident service requests, preparing apartments for new residents, and ensuring that community systems such as plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems are in proper working order. The technician also performs preventative maintenance, helps maintain the cleanliness and safety of the property, and participates in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies. Seasonal duties may include snow removal and pool maintenance.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks daily.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Availability for emergency on-call rotation, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of maintenance experience in a residential or commercial setting.
EPA certification and/or HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

Respond to resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Diagnose and repair issues in apartment units and common areas, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, appliances, and carpentry.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
Assist with apartment make-readies, including cleaning, repairs, and painting.
Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the property, including grounds, amenities, and maintenance areas.
Maintain inventory of supplies and tools and notify the supervisor of supply needs.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
Assist with snow removal, pool maintenance, and seasonal tasks as needed.
