Apartment Assistants (AAs) support the administrative functions of University Courtyard Apartments (UCA) and help maintain a safe, secure, welcoming, and inclusive environment for resident students. They respond to student and facility needs after hours, foster community and belonging, and carry out administrative responsibilities. The position reports directly to the Apartment Coordinator (AC) and is a live-in role; assistants are required to reside in their assigned room. AAs participate in a duty rotation and staff the Clubhouse office, helping with mail and packages, keys, fobs and resources, office phones, questions, and other assigned administrative duties. They inform students about residential policies, respond to and document policy violations, communicate relevant concerns to professional staff, and support residents in emergencies and crises. The role also involves collaboration with Residence Life staff and university departments, serving as a mandatory reporter under Title IX guidelines, and ongoing reflection and professional development. The schedule varies and is discussed with the department. Standard duty hours are 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; additional daytime or 24-hour on-call shifts may be scheduled on historically active weekend days. Clubhouse office work is at least 8 hours per week and may include weekends. Assistants must be available for a weekly Wednesday staff meeting and training, August 2027 training and opening, and work during closings, breaks, and holidays. The anticipated start date is August 2027. The estimated compensation is a $2,550 stipend plus a room stipend.
