About The Position

KIPP NYC Public Schools is seeking passionate and dedicated teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year to join KIPP NYC College Prep High School (CPHS). CPHS is a rigorous, college-preparatory high school located in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, currently educating over 2,000 students in grades 9-12. The school offers a wide array of Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment, and Honors courses, alongside numerous electives, clubs, and sports programs. A comprehensive college and career counseling department ensures students are well-prepared for their post-secondary journeys. For the 2026-2027 academic year, CPHS will expand to an additional facility, adopting a Lower School and Upper School model. The Upper School will feature industry concentrations for students in grades 11-12. The new facility boasts modern amenities including classrooms, science labs, gymnasiums, a commercial kitchen, a cafetorium, a rooftop play space, and dedicated rooms for arts, music, and health.

• At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred
• New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Planning a college preparatory curriculum that combines the school’s standards, New York State Standards, and fosters critical thinking.
• Executing thoughtful, rigorous daily college preparatory lessons.
• Assessing student progress, and communicating results to students, families, and colleagues.
• Providing individual and small group instruction until all students achieve mastery.
• Modeling KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions and communications with students, families, and staff.
• Advising a small group of students to succeed through their four years of high school.
