About The Position

KIPP NYC is seeking passionate and dedicated History Teachers for their High School program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves developing and executing a college preparatory curriculum that fosters critical thinking, assesses student progress, and models KIPP NYC's character strengths. The teacher will also advise a small group of students to ensure their success throughout high school. The position is based in NYC and may require travel between school locations.   • Bachelor’s degree required

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred
  • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Planning a college preparatory curriculum that combines the school’s standards, New York State Standards, and, most importantly, fosters critical thinking.
  • Executing thoughtful, rigorous daily college preparatory lessons.
  • Assessing student progress, and communicating results to students, families, and colleagues.
  • Providing individual and small group instruction until all students achieve mastery.
  • Modeling KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions and communications with students, families, and staff.
  • Advising a small group of students to succeed through their four years of high school.
