Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead our receivables team and ensure the efficient management of all aspects of accounts receivable processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the collection of outstanding invoices, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and support the organization’s financial health. Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, SOX compliance, and governmental or non-profit accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle management within healthcare or other specialized industries involving CPT coding and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and account analysis accurately.
  • Demonstrated experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on accounts receivable functions.
  • Skilled in negotiation techniques to facilitate collections while preserving customer relationships.
  • High-level data entry accuracy with proficiency in 10 key typing and double entry bookkeeping methods.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts related to credits & debits, journal entries, and technical accounting procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational skills combined with strong phone etiquette for effective communication with clients or vendors.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data using analysis skills for decision-making purposes in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities related to accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation using accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or QuickBooks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of journal entries, credit analysis, and account analysis to maintain precise financial records.
  • Manage the entire revenue cycle management process from billing to collections for various sectors including healthcare (medical billing, CPT coding, ICD-10), non-profit organizations, or governmental agencies.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of aging reports to identify overdue accounts and implement effective negotiation strategies for collections while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Oversee compliance with internal controls related to SOX and ensure adherence to GAAP standards across all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on month-end closing activities, account reconciliation, and audit preparations.
  • Utilize technical accounting skills to resolve complex issues involving debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and financial software systems like Sage or PeopleSoft.
  • Lead process improvements for accounts payable and receivable workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on best practices in data entry, medical terminology (if applicable), and phone etiquette for effective communication with clients or vendors.
