About The Position

The AOG Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all Aircraft on Ground maintenance events to ensure safe, timely, and efficient return-to-service of company aircraft. This role serves as the primary point of contact during AOG situations and works cross-functionally with Maintenance Control, Flight Operations, Parts, Vendors, Scheduling, and Leadership to minimize aircraft downtime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, solutions-focused aviation maintenance professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and can make sound decisions under pressure.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • Minimum 5–7 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in an inspection or quality role
  • Prior experience in a Part 145 Repair Station environment required
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including Parts 43, 65, 91, 121, and 135
  • Proven experience with audit compliance, documentation, and regulatory oversight
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a maintenance environment
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Inspection Authorization (IA) strongly preferred
  • Experience with turbine aircraft (Citation, Learjet, Challenger, or similar)
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in maintenance or quality
  • Familiarity with ARGUS and IS-BAO standards
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance tracking systems

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all inspection functions in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and company procedures
  • Maintain authority over airworthiness determinations and return-to-service approvals
  • Supervise and mentor inspection personnel, ensuring proper training and qualifications are maintained
  • Develop, implement, and enforce quality assurance and quality control programs
  • Act as primary liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for all maintenance and inspection activities
  • Conduct internal audits and prepare for FAA and third-party audits (e.g., ARGUS, IS-BAO)
  • Conduct and oversee vendor and supplier audits to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, RSM/QCM requirements, and company quality standards
  • Evaluate, approve, and monitor external maintenance vendors and service providers, maintaining an Approved Vendor List (AVL)
  • Track vendor performance, identify quality trends, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented
