About The Position
Amity Foundation is hiring a Counselor II/III to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in its Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). The role supports prison and re-entry programs and involves working inside a state prison. The Counselor helps participants engage in evidence-based programming and develop release-prevention and action plans.
Requirements
- Counselor II: Certification as an AOD Counselor.
- Counselor III: Certification as an AOD Counselor and one year of full-time experience providing certified AOD counseling services.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate cognitive behavioral intervention (CBI) classes using evidence-based, standardized curriculum.
- Conduct classes and individual sessions to develop release-prevention/action plans and provide make-up work.
- Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to classes.
- Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
- Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations for participation and completion.
- Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, the local institution, and CDCR-contracted staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
