About The Position
Amity Foundation is hiring a Counselor II/III for its Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). The role delivers face-to-face rehabilitative programming services in prison and re-entry programs. Work is performed inside a state prison and includes facilitating evidence-based, standardized curriculum and supporting participants’ progress and release planning.
Requirements
- Counselor II: Certification as an AOD Counselor.
- Counselor III: Certification as an AOD Counselor and one year of full-time experience providing certified AOD counseling services.
- Must hold certification from CAADE, BBS, CADTP, or CCAPP to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate cognitive behavioral intervention (CBI) classes using evidence-based and standardized curriculum.
- Conduct classes and facilitate individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and/or provide make-up work.
- Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to classes.
- Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
- Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations for participation and completion.
- Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, the local institution, and CDCR-contracted staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
