About The Position

Love Justice International (LJI) is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to fighting human trafficking and caring for orphaned and abandoned children. This role focuses on combating human trafficking through transit monitoring, intercepting potential victims at transportation hubs. The organization operates as an 'Impact Engineering' entity, utilizing scientific and business principles alongside local insights to maximize real-world outcomes. The Anti-Trafficking Field Officer Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to apply practical knowledge and skills to global anti-trafficking efforts. The position is based in Ballito, South Africa, with regular travel required to LJI programs worldwide.

Requirements

  • Mature Christian faith and agreement with the Global Value to “Abide in Christ”.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and agreement with how the Christian Gospel ministers to “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40) and guides the mission.
  • Agreement with the Core Value “Be the Kingdom” in mission execution and personal conduct.
  • Acknowledgment of the Statement of Faith.
  • Passion for justice and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a field relevant to the position or a related field.
  • Significant experience in a relevant field, including business, finance, accounting, legal, data analysis, security, human resources, and human assessments.
  • Ability to work well in cross-cultural contexts and sensitivity to different cultures.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills; basic quantitative reasoning skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and willingness to adapt to changing and challenging circumstances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and particularly with Google Sheets.
  • Ability to work well within a group setting and maintain a positive outlook while working within challenging circumstances.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately one week every six weeks.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience working cross-culturally preferred.
  • Familiarity with working with complex spreadsheets preferred.
  • Proficiency in one of the following languages preferred, but not required, in addition to English: Spanish, French, Portuguese, and/or Swahili.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with LJI core process Leads and LJI Regional Stewards to install necessary core processes, which may involve video calls, emails, and occasional in-person travel for training.
  • Assist the core process Lead in closely tracking compliance with assigned core processes after installation.
  • Conduct follow-up training based on compliance monitoring, ensuring national partners understand requirements.
  • Assist in new project ideas as a member of the anti-trafficking program team, considering individual passions, skills, and expertise.
  • Potentially develop expertise in core processes and take on more responsibility, such as becoming an Implementation Manager or core process Lead.
  • Build and maintain a team of financial supporters through regular communication and updates.
