About The Position

The Antenna Engineer is a hands-on role on Maxtena’s engineering team, supporting product design, development, and production. The engineer designs products from concept through full production for GPS, satellite communications, 5G, 4G LTE, and advanced phased-array systems. The role also involves prototyping and testing, manufacturing support, collaboration with internal and customer-facing teams, automated quality and qualification testing, simulation-based feasibility studies, and reporting product development status to senior leadership.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Ph.D. is preferred.
At least 2 years of antenna-focused experience, including design and RF/anechoic testing.
Demonstrated experience with wireless communication principles, including link budget analysis and propagation channel modeling.
Demonstrated experience with complex matching networks, corporate feeds, filters (primarily SAW and ceramic), and duplexers.
Demonstrated fabrication and prototyping abilities, including soldering and assembly, and power-amplifier input/output matching and optimization of ACP, P1dB, and spurs.
Demonstrated experience with bench measurement equipment, including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers.
Demonstrated experience with antenna-specific measurement equipment, including near-field and far-field ranges.
Demonstrated experience with various aspects of PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, and fabrication processes.
Experience with compliance and testing standards such as FCC, ETSI, and MIL standards.
Exceptionally detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work well across interdisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Satimo equipment, Microwave Studio, ADS, and MATLAB systems is highly preferred.
A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or Ph.D. is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design products from concept through full production for GPS, satellite communications, 5G, 4G LTE, and advanced phased-array systems.
Construct and test hardware prototypes.
Provide manufacturing support and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate with layout and PCB engineers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and other technical teams.
Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams.
Set up, run, and define automated testing for quality control and qualification testing.
Perform feasibility studies using simulation tools.
Provide product development status updates to senior leadership.
