Requirements

  • Ability to effectively and consistently perform essential job tasks.
  • Ability to safely operate sanitation equipment and cleaning tools.
  • Ability to understand and follow cleaning, sanitation, and dilution procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean, safe, and healthy animal housing environments by cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining animal enclosures.
  • Move and group animals as directed using proper animal handling techniques while monitoring and reporting animal health concerns.
  • Operate feeding systems to provide dry feed for beagles and ferrets.
  • Feed animals and ensure water systems are functioning properly.
  • Operate feed vacuums and feed buggies to recycle and distribute feed.
  • Prepare pens before and after cleaning activities.
  • Wash, sanitize, and rinse pens and animal buildings using pressure washers and cleaning equipment.
  • Sweep and wash floors in animal buildings using motorized sweepers and pressure washers.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing shipping crates as needed.
  • Ensure all entry procedures and biosecurity requirements are followed.
  • Participate in ferret feeding responsibilities, including weekend wet feeding rotation duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
