About The Position

Investigate animal cruelty and neglect charges and perform related duties to promote compliance with laws regulating animal treatment.

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Valid Driver’s License.

Observes areas of alleged violations and interviews available witnesses to determine if laws are being violated.
Informs people perpetrating inhumane acts of laws and penalties for violations.
Reports violators to police or requests police to arrest violators.
Aids animals in distress by feeding starving animals and freeing trapped animals.
Removes animals from inhumane conditions and drives vehicles to transport animals to shelter for treatment and care.
Inspect establishments housing or exhibiting animals to ascertain compliance with humane laws.
Write reports of activities.
Feed and water animals at the shelter.
Clean Shelter.
On call 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
Must respond to callouts within 30-minute time frame.
Other duties may be assigned.
