About The Position

Argenta, MVS is hiring an Animal Care Technician at its Oakland, Nebraska location. The role supports animal care and research activities by performing routine cleaning and daily chores, collecting research data and samples, assisting veterinarians, maintaining animal well-being, and supporting site operations. The position requires working collaboratively, handling animals and farm equipment, and being available for an on-call rotation that includes weekends. The role is subject to a DEA background check and a pre-employment drug screen and/or physical.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
Experience working with large and small animals.
Proven experience working with large farm equipment or machinery.
Ability to work well with others and maintain composure.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail and an analytical approach.
Dependability, flexibility, and ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Willingness to be on call and participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends.
Live within a satisfactory distance to assist with on-call purposes and procedures.
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
Pass a DEA background check and pre-employment drug screen and/or physical.

Responsibilities

Clean and perform daily chores repeatedly under the direction of senior staff and veterinarians.
Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
Assist veterinarians with observations and procedures, and inform them if abnormalities are observed.
Promote and maintain animal well-being, including feeding and basic care.
Repair, maintain, and operate equipment and machinery.
Perform administrative duties that support animal care and site functions.
Record information in a timely and accurate manner.
Build relationships with key individuals and contributors within and beyond the organization.
