About The Position

Argenta is seeking an Animal Care Technician for its Oakland, Nebraska location. The role is suited to motivated, driven individuals who can multitask and work as part of a team. The technician supports animal care and research activities by completing daily care tasks, collecting study data and samples, assisting veterinarians, maintaining equipment, and performing administrative duties. The position requires experience with animals and large farm equipment, and includes participation in an on-call rotation, including weekends. The role is subject to a DEA background check and a pre-employment drug screen and/or physical.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
Experience working with large and small animals.
Proven experience working with large farm equipment or machinery.
Ability to work well with others and maintain composure.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail and an analytical approach.
Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Willingness to be on call and participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends.
Live within a satisfactory distance to assist with on-call needs and procedures.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

Clean and perform daily chores repeatedly under the direction of senior staff and veterinarians.
Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
Assist veterinarians with observations and procedures, and inform veterinarians when abnormalities are observed.
Promote and maintain animal well-being, including feeding and basic care.
Repair, maintain, and operate equipment and machinery.
Perform administrative duties that support animal care and site functions.
Record information accurately and in a timely manner.
Build relationships with key individuals and contributors within and beyond the organization.
