Animal Care Technician - Paw Sweet Paw Spectrum
About The Position
Animal Care Technicians provide loving care for pet guests staying at the pet hotel, with a focus on safety, comfort, and cleanliness. The role includes welcoming human and pet guests, providing individual care to boarding pets, and delivering excellent customer service during check-in and check-out. Technicians work independently and as part of a team, communicate with management and coworkers, and help maintain a clean facility. This is a part-time position at Paw Sweet Paw Spectrum in Irvine, California. The hourly pay range is $17.50 to $19.00. The position may be eligible for incentives and overtime opportunities, where applicable.
Requirements
- Possess a love of animals.
- Display a professional manner at all times.
- Be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds or more.
- Be able to stand and walk for eight hours a day.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to work on a computer system.
- Be able to handle dogs on leashes and work around disinfectant and sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and animal excretions.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least one year of professional animal experience.
- Be able to work individually and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain pet suites, condos, general boarding areas, and the kitchen.
- Feed and water pet guests, and feed and medicate them according to instructions.
- Monitor and accurately chart each pet guest, including consumption and elimination, and report concerns to management.
- Monitor pet belongings.
- Perform laundry duties.
- Welcome human and pet guests and check pets in and out while providing excellent customer service.
- Follow safe handling procedures and correctly identify animal body language and behavior.
- Escort pets to and from their rooms.
- Provide individual care for boarding guests.
- Sanitize and disinfect pet suites, condos, and general boarding areas.
- Contribute to facility cleanliness and communicate with management and team members.
- Assist other associates and perform other duties as needed.
