About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant for New York Dog Spa and Hotel 25th Street. This role is for individuals passionate about animals who want to turn their love for pets into a rewarding job. Destination Pet provides comprehensive pet care services including day care, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services, aiming to make pets feel at home and their humans feel at ease.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and pet accidents is expected.
• Must be able to be on feet for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but eagerness to learn is valued.
• A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
• Willingness to get hands dirty.

Responsibilities

• Keeping pet enclosures and play areas spotless, safe, and sanitized.
• Serving meals and fresh water to pets.
• Monitoring the health, happiness, and waste output of every pet guest.
• Reporting any unusual observations to the General or Assistant Manager.
• Supervising playtime and activities.
• Assisting with brushing and bath time.
• Handling laundry and pet belongings.
• Making tails wag.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Working daytime shifts as well as one overnight shift per week (Friday nights).
