About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant to join their team. This role involves providing care for pets, ensuring their enclosures and play areas are clean and safe, serving meals, monitoring their health and happiness, supervising playtime, and assisting with grooming tasks. The company emphasizes a team-oriented environment focused on elevating the lives of pet families through various services including day care, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary services.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and "accidents" is part of the gig.
• Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• A borderline-obsessive love for animals.
• Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but if you're brand new and eager to learn—we want to meet you!
• A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
• A willingness to get your hands dirty (literally).

Responsibilities

• Keeping pet enclosures and play areas spotless, safe, and sanitized.
• Serving up meals and fresh water.
• Monitoring the health, happiness, and poop of every pet guest.
• Reporting anything unusual to the General or Assistant Manager.
• Supervising playtime, tail-wagging, and the occasional game of fetch.
• Assisting with brushing and bath time.
• Handling laundry and belongings.
• Making tails wag.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must work weekends.
