About The Position

The Angle Roll Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining angle rolling machines used to bend and form structural steel components, including angles, channels, beams, and other metal sections into precise radius according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This position ensures products meet quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient production processes.

Requirements

  • Typically, 1-3+ years of experience.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills and a solid understanding of geometry and metal properties.
  • Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Written Comprehension -- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Extent Flexibility -- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Mathematical Reasoning -- The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
  • Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Drawing reading- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate directions from supervisors and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate angle roll machines to form structural steel and metal components to required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, fabrication drawings, work orders, and specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling, and machine settings.
  • Perform machine adjustments to achieve accurate bends, radii, and profiles.
  • Measure and inspect completed parts using tapes, calipers, squares, templates, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Verify compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify operational issues.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Safely move materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment, as authorized.
  • Collaborate with production, welding, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Assist with other fabrication and manufacturing tasks as needed.
  • Be willing to perform any designated task and follow instructions.
