About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center (SFMC), an affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP), is seeking an Anesthesiology Core Faculty member. This is a 4-year categorical residency program that began in July 2024 with approval for 32 Residents. The department is open to considering graduating residents and fellows, as well as experienced anesthesiologists. Part-time positions are available. Faculty positions typically do not supervise CRNAs. Candidates with subspecialty training in Pediatrics, Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic, Pediatric CV, Critical Care, and Pain are encouraged to apply. This site is H-1B eligible and offers potential for leadership opportunities. The work schedule involves three weeks on and one week off, with only two 16-hour call shifts during the three-working week. One call is in-house, and the other is taken from home. Post-call days are off. This is an EEO Employer (M/F/Vet/Disabled).

Requirements

  • Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies).
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
