About The Position

The Anesthesiologist treats patients at Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) and Northwestern Medicine hospitals, offices, and other health care facilities as assigned by the President of NMG or a designee. The physician maintains a clinical schedule, including days, hours, and locations, as needed to provide timely and comprehensive medical services to NMG patients. The position includes teaching medical residents, fellows, medical students, nurses, and other health care providers as required by NMG, and providing on-call coverage as reasonably required. The physician refers patients who need specialized care to specialists and providers in NMG’s affiliated network, while respecting patient preferences, insurer determinations, and the patient’s best medical interests. The role also involves regular participation in practice unit meetings and quality assurance activities, compliance with NMG billing and documentation policies and procedures, and other duties consistent with the physician’s employment as assigned by the President or a designee.

Requirements

Doctoral degree.

Responsibilities

Treat patients at Northwestern Medical Group and Northwestern Medicine hospitals, offices, and other health care facilities as assigned.
Maintain a clinical schedule that supports timely and comprehensive medical services for NMG patients.
Teach medical residents, fellows, medical students, nurses, and other health care providers as required.
Provide on-call coverage as reasonably required by NMG.
Refer patients requiring specialized medical care to providers and facilities in NMG’s affiliated network, subject to patient preferences, insurer determinations, and medical judgment.
Participate regularly in practice unit meetings and quality assurance activities.
Comply with NMG billing, documentation, and related policies, procedures, systems, and practices.
Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned by the President of NMG or a designee.
