About The Position

The Anesthesiologist provides patient care at Northwestern Medical Group and Northwestern Medicine hospitals, offices, and other health care facilities as assigned by the President of NMG or a designee. The physician maintains a clinical schedule at the days, hours, and locations necessary to provide timely and comprehensive medical services to NMG patients and provides on-call coverage as reasonably required by NMG. The role includes referring patients who need specialized medical care to appropriate specialists and providers in NMG’s affiliated network, while respecting patient preferences, insurer determinations, and the physician’s judgment about the patient’s best medical interests. The physician regularly participates in practice unit meetings and quality assurance activities, follows NMG billing and documentation policies and procedures, and performs other duties consistent with the employment as assigned by the President or a designee.

Requirements

Board eligible or board certified (BE/BC).

Responsibilities

Treat patients at Northwestern Medical Group and Northwestern Medicine hospitals, offices, and health care facilities as assigned.
Maintain a clinical schedule as needed to provide timely and comprehensive care to NMG patients.
Provide on-call coverage as reasonably required by NMG.
Refer patients requiring specialized care to appropriate specialists and providers, subject to patient preferences, insurer determinations, and the patient’s best medical interests.
Participate regularly in practice unit meetings and quality assurance activities.
Comply with NMG billing, documentation, and related policies, procedures, systems, and practices.
Perform other duties consistent with the physician’s employment as assigned by the President of NMG or a designee.
