About The Position

Night Float Anesthesiologist opportunity at Gulf Coast Medical Center in beautiful Ft. Myers, Florida – 26 Weeks On/ 26 Weeks Off. As the largest hospital in the Lee Health system, Gulf Coast Medical Center houses the only Level II Trauma Center between Bradenton and Miami, a Neuroscience Institute, orthopedic, oncology and cardiology services, and much more. Gulf Coast is a 624-bed hospital with 22 Operating Rooms. An accredited, comprehensive stroke center features minimally invasive catheter procedures to treat stroke patients.

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
  • ECFMG and FLEX
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
  • Currently licensed as a physician

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment
  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed
