About The Position

We are seeking an Anesthesiologist for a Locum Tenens position in Waterloo, Iowa. This inpatient role involves clinical duties and call rotations, covering a period from June 29, 2026, ongoing. The schedule includes weekdays from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with night and weekend call every 3-4 days. The service setting is inpatient, with an average daily volume of 30-50 cases. The case mix includes general surgery, OB (including TOLAC), healthy pediatrics (tonsils/adenoids), and conscious sedation. The facility has 13 OR beds and is a Level III Trauma Center, utilizing the Epic EMR system. Support staff includes 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Board Certified (BC)
• Active IA license or IMLC
• ACLS certification
• Availability for 2 weeks per month
• Must be available for weeks of Nov 23 and Dec 21
• COVID vaccine required
• Clean background
• Hospital Privileges Required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor patient care before and during surgery
• Administer general, OB, pediatric, and conscious sedation anesthesia
• Supervise CRNAs as needed
• Participate in night and weekend call rotations
• Document patient encounters in Epic EMR
