About The Position

We are seeking a Physician for Anesthesiology on a Locum Tenens basis to provide clinical coverage and call services at an Inpatient / Acute Care Hospital in Potsdam, NY. The coverage period is from 10/19/2026 – Ongoing as needed. The clinical shift schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with weekday call from 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM and weekend call from Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM. Specific coverage dates with varying call responsibilities are outlined, including periods with no weekday call and holiday call. The role involves providing anesthesia services for adult and surgical patients, with an approximate patient volume of 10–15 patients. Case mix includes inpatient, OB, epidurals, general anesthesia, and scheduled surgeries. Additional duties may include CRNA supervision. The facility is a rural, critical access hospital with a Trauma Level of Adult III/IV, utilizing the Epic EMR system.

Requirements

• New York license in hand required
• Board Certified preferred; Board Eligible considered
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• AHA or RQI certifications accepted
• Epic experience required
• General Anesthesia
• Obstetric Anesthesia
• Epidurals
• Inpatient Anesthesia
• Scheduled Surgical Procedures
• CRNA Supervision, as applicable

Nice To Haves

• Rural/critical access experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services for inpatient and surgical cases
• Provide OB anesthesia and epidural services
• Perform general anesthesia for scheduled procedures
• Provide anesthesia coverage in a rural, critical access setting
• Supervise CRNAs when applicable
• Participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage
• Document patient care and anesthesia services in Epic
