About The Position

The Apple Store Online Operations team is seeking an Analytics & Business Planning Lead to join our Workforce Strategy & Analytics (WSA) group. This is a senior individual contributor role at the intersection of deep analytical work and strategic business planning. In this role, you will own the analytical frameworks, financial models, and planning processes that tell the story of how Apple's largest store is performing and where it is headed. You will bring the rare ability to build rigorous, scalable data solutions and translate what they reveal into forward-looking business strategies that influence how operational leaders plan, invest, and act. The ideal candidate believes that the most powerful analytics isn't just about answering questions, but about shaping the questions worth asking. In this role, you will serve as both the analytical engine and strategic planning partner for ASO Operations, owning the models, metrics, and planning cycles that connect day-to-day operational performance to long-range business strategy. You will conduct deep quantitative analysis to uncover the trends, risks, and opportunities that matter most to the business, and you will translate those findings into the financial models, capacity plans, and executive narratives that drive alignment and action across the organization. Your work sits at the highest-value intersection of analytics and planning, where the quality of your analysis directly shapes the quality of every business decision made downstream.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field — or 6+ years of equivalent professional experience in an analytics, business intelligence, or strategy & analytics role with demonstrated impact at scale.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and strong Python skills — with a track record of using both independently to build production-grade analytical solutions, automate workflows, and deliver insights that drive measurable business decisions.
  • Proven experience owning the end-to-end design and implementation of KPI frameworks and operational metrics — including stakeholder alignment on definitions, documentation of methodology, and building the data infrastructure required to track and report at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the delivery of data and analytics programs end-to-end — including translating business requirements into technical specifications, partnering with engineering teams to drive execution, and ensuring analytical solutions are adopted and trusted by the business.
  • Demonstrated experience building and owning financial models and business planning processes — including capacity modeling, headcount forecasting, or operational planning — with the analytical rigor to support executive-level decision-making.
  • Proven ability to translate complex, ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks and forward-looking recommendations — operating with a high degree of autonomy and delivering with clarity and precision under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment without direct authority — with a track record of building trust through the consistent quality, accuracy, and business relevance of analytical work.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep business acumen with the ability to rapidly understand operational workflows, workforce economics, and performance drivers — and apply that context to build analyses and planning models that are not just technically correct, but strategically meaningful to the business.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, and hands-on experience incorporating AI and machine learning techniques into analytics workflows — including forecasting, anomaly detection, or natural language querying — with a clear understanding of how to validate and operationalize those techniques responsibly.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and BI tools such as Tableau or Looker — with a track record of designing self-serve reporting solutions that reduce analytical dependency, increase data literacy, and give operational teams direct access to the insights they need.
  • Background in workforce analytics, digital operations, or e-commerce operations — with a strong understanding of how staffing, volume, service levels, and customer experience metrics interconnect and how that relationship can be modeled and planned against.
  • Experience managing the delivery of data and analytics programs — including translating business requirements into technical specifications, partnering with engineering teams to drive execution, and ensuring analytical solutions are adopted and trusted by the business.
  • Extraordinary organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex, high-priority workstreams simultaneously — maintaining analytical rigor, stakeholder communication, and delivery quality even as priorities shift in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.
