About The Position

The Quality Control Analytical Analyst position is 100% on-site at the Windsor, Ontario site, which is one of two Canadian sites offering softgel development and manufacturing for Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. The site provides integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical, and packaging services. Reporting to the Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor-Analytical, this role involves coordinating and performing laboratory activities and projects, including the analysis of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples. The Analytical Analyst contributes to a scientific team focused on advancing pharmaceutical products produced by the organization.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Science, Chemistry or related field is required.
  • Strong technical/scientific background.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, terminology, equipment and materials.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate applicable ethics and due diligence.
  • Good communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Chemistry or related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a lab analyst preferred.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the testing of raw materials, finished products and stability samples by instrumental and wet chemistry methods described in compendia references or in-house methods.
  • Maintain laboratory environment in a safe and clean manner such as laboratory/equipment cleaning, glassware washing, storing of supplies, etc.
  • Calibrate and maintain instruments according to relevant SOPs.
  • Train, advise and assist laboratory personnel as required (e.g. methods, procedures, tests, etc.).
  • Maintain adequate levels of laboratory supplies.
  • Comply with SOPs and GMPs at all times.
  • May be asked to work extended hours (overtime), especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
  • Perform other duties as required.
