About The Position
Bureau Veritas is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join their environmental laboratory team in Montreal and Ste-Foy, QC. This is a contract position until mid-December, with a possibility of extension based on laboratory needs and performance. The role involves supporting sample analysis, complex sample preparation, executing analyses, and ensuring accuracy and quality by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The analyst will also be responsible for meeting quality control criteria, understanding and diagnosing analyses, contributing to corrective actions, ensuring timely completion of tasks, maintaining equipment, and reporting on work planning and organization. Any other related tasks may also be assigned.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry, microbiology, or biology.
- Experience in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to precisely follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions.
- Dynamic, energetic, motivated, and positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Provide general support for sample analysis, and perform complex sample preparation.
- Perform analyses and complex sample preparation.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Ensure quality control criteria are met for all reported data.
- Understand and diagnose analyses.
- Contribute to corrective action procedures.
- Ensure deadlines are met and equipment is properly maintained.
- Prepare reports to plan and organize work.
- Perform any other related tasks.
