About The Position

This role is responsible for procuring ocean freight rates for import and export USA trades. The analyst will maintain ocean contracts, ensure filing compliance with FMC, and review RFQs. They will validate and negotiate ocean freight rates and terms with carriers, manage escalations for invoice correctors, diversions, capacity protection, and agreements with suppliers. The position involves implementing corporate carrier strategy in collaboration with other peers from the Global Ocean Freight Procurement team, and procuring intermodal rates as needed. A key aspect of the role is to promote a win/win philosophy with ocean carriers and intermodal providers.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in the procurement of ocean freight (buying or selling)
Experience working for a freight forwarder or ocean carrier is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration or logistics management is an asset
Team player with the ability to work independently
Self-motivation, eagerness to learn and accept new challenges
Relationship focused and good commercial acumen
Strong data analysis and reporting skills
