About The Position

KeyBank Real Estate Capital (KBREC) is a leading provider of commercial and multifamily real estate finance. The Institutional Real Estate Group (IREG) is part of KBREC and focuses on the capital and banking needs of public and private REITs, real estate operating companies, real estate fund sponsors, and real estate private equity firms. IREG assists these institutional real estate entities in obtaining debt and equity financing through various means, including corporate credit facilities, syndicated finance, acquisition and bridge loans, permanent debt, public and private bonds, and public and private equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and strong work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or class work in finance, accounting, commercial real estate, or economics
  • Financial modeling coursework or experience
  • Relevant internship or prior work experience in commercial real estate or commercial banking

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior team members in managing client relationships.
  • Review and process credit requests.
  • Monitor existing transactions.
  • Perform financial analysis.
  • Conduct real estate due diligence.
  • Underwrite transactions.
  • Assist with credit structuring.
  • Manage portfolios.
  • Create client-tailored marketing materials.
  • Interface with clients.
  • Build client relationships and provide financing solutions by working closely with other IREG teammates, including Associates, Relationship Managers and Senior Relationship Managers.
  • Complete portfolio management, market analysis, and financial underwriting, including writeups, for credit transactions.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of underwriting parameters and the working relationship between balance sheet lending and off-balance sheet financing options.
  • Run and utilize internal modeling to determine risk ratings and return hurdles on all loan approvals.
  • Participate as an engaged member of the deal team, effectively and regularly communicating with the IREG team, internal product partners, borrowers, and prospects.
