About The Position

As an Analyst, Retail Optimization Co-op at Loblaw Technology, you will join a strategic team that helps improve how technology is introduced, adopted, and optimized across Canada's largest retailer. Working alongside experienced retail optimization specialists, experience designers, and business partners, you'll help prepare stores for new technology pilots, gather feedback from frontline colleagues, analyze business processes, and support initiatives that simplify the way colleagues work while improving the customer experience. No two days are the same. One day you may be visiting stores to observe how colleagues complete everyday tasks, another day facilitating a feedback session after a technology pilot, creating communications for an upcoming rollout, or helping turn store feedback into recommendations that improve how our stores operate.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Design, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong curiosity about how the grocery retail business operates and how technology can simplify the way colleagues work and improve the customer experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, operations, and technology teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Miro, Figma, or similar collaboration and visualization tools is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of retail technology pilots, business readiness activities, and store rollouts.
  • Visit stores to observe workflows, engage with frontline colleagues, and gather feedback on new processes and technology.
  • Develop communications, training materials, job aids, presentations, and other resources that prepare stores for change.
  • Analyze pilot feedback, identify key themes, and help translate insights into recommendations for project teams.
  • Support workshops, stakeholder meetings, and document business processes using journey maps and process flows.
  • Research grocery retail trends and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement initiatives.
