About The Position

Aecon's Corporate teams play a critical role in enabling the success of Aecon’s operating sectors and major infrastructure projects across North America and internationally. Through multidisciplinary expertise, functional services, and strategic partnership, our teams collaborate with executive leadership, operations, and project teams in a dynamic, matrixed environment to solve complex challenges and drive results. The Procurement Excellence Analyst is a key member of the Corporate Procurement team. This position knows the P2P Process in SAP (up to receiving stage) and provides training to Procurement users (Requisitioners, Buyers, Approvers, Receivers). The Procurement Excellence Analyst is proficient in Aecon procurement processes and guidelines and provides guidance to users in a timely fashion regarding the P2P Process in SAP. The Analyst is instrumental in testing new SAP procurement solutions, or new procurement master data.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in SAP, particularly within the MM module and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively support and guide diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess issues and recommend effective solutions
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to achieve goals and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance across procurement activities
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to build effective working relationships across functions
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical standards and accountability
  • Ability to travel to other Aecon Offices or Job Sites in Canada or United States to provide P2P SAP training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver SAP P2P (Procure-to-Pay) training up to the receiving stage for Procurement users, including Requisitioners, Buyers, Approvers, and Receivers
  • Develop a strong understanding of Aecon Procurement Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to provide accurate guidance and ensure compliance
  • Provide day-to-day support by responding to inquiries related to SAP P2P processes, procurement guidelines, user access, and role assignments
  • Maintain and continuously improve training materials, including updating work instructions, user guides, and training documentation
  • Create and enhance training content, including instructional videos, to support user adoption and process standardization
  • Support system enhancements by testing new SAP procurement solutions, system updates, and master data changes (e.g., plants, material master) within the SAP Quality environment
  • Validate functionality, identify defects, and ensure procurement processes operate effectively prior to production deployment
  • Provide backup support for the Master Data Analyst role, including maintaining and updating procurement master data in SAP (e.g., material master, purchasing groups)
  • Assist with procurement transactions as required, including creating or supporting requisitions and purchase orders to ensure business continuity
