About The Position

Westlake Management Services Inc. in Houston, TX seeks an Analyst Principal – Functional SD. This role involves working with SAP and other associated business applications, focusing on implementation, design, configuration, support, and upgrades. The position requires gathering business requirements, analyzing data, performing systems analysis and design, and supporting system development, testing, and delivery. The Analyst Principal will support all phases of the system development life-cycle for SAP and related business applications, modify and enhance SAP systems following project management methodologies, and define interface requirements, working with vendors on external system integrations. The role also includes defining project scope and objectives, developing work plans, process flows, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and reviewing project deliverables. Responsibilities also encompass conducting project meetings, providing tracking and analysis, facilitating analysis and design sessions with users and managers, creating/reviewing functional designs and specifications, coordinating quality assurance efforts, ensuring user training is current, coordinating project cutover and go-live support, researching and resolving SAP help desk incidents, monitoring critical business processes, reviewing and testing software updates, performing application controls testing for Sarbanes Oxley audits, and performing annual disaster recovery testing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, business administration, or related discipline
10 years of progressive experience in SAP functional roles, specifically in Sales and Distribution (SD) and Logistics Execution (LE) modules
Demonstrated expertise in SAP implementation methodologies and configuration techniques
Experience in Order Management, Logistics Execution, Available-to-Promise (ATP), Pricing, and Billing configuration
At least 5 years’ experience designing SAP output forms (e.g., Order Acknowledgment, Bill of Lading, Proforma, Invoice)
At least 3 years’ experience working with EDI/IDoc, SAPScripts, and SAP Queries
Experience integrating third-party logistics systems (e.g., TMS, Bourque)
Experience handling EDI 410/404 transactions

Responsibilities

Work with SAP and other associated business applications implementation, design, configuration, support and upgrades
Gather and organize business requirements, analyze data requirements, perform systems analysis and design activities, and support system development, testing, and delivery efforts
Support all phases of the system development life-cycle process for SAP and other associated business application
Modify and/or enhance SAP following an established project management methodology
Define interface requirements, and work with system vendors on external systems interfacing with SAP
Define project scope and objectives
Develop detailed work plans, process flows, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables
Conduct project meetings and provide project tracking and analysis
Facilitate and lead analysis and design sessions with functional users and business managers to document procedures and to gather functional requirements
Create/review and QA functional designs and specifications for configuration, application security, reports, data conversions and interfaces
Coordinate quality assurance efforts by creating and executing unit, string, integration and user acceptance test plans
Ensure training materials and user skills are current and coordinate necessary user training
Coordinate project cutover, go-live and support
Research and resolve SAP level 3 help desk incidents in compliance with the Business Unit and IS Management service level agreements
Monitor operation of critical business processes
Review and test software updates
Perform application controls testing for Sarbanes Oxley annual audits
Perform annual disaster recovery testing
