We currently have an opening for an Analyst, Network & Security – 12 month contract, come grow with us! Reporting to the Manager, Cybersecurity & Network, the successful candidate will provide hands-on execution capacity for HPS cybersecurity and network programs. There will be a primary focus on network segmentation and the SonicWall to FortiGate firewall migration, including firewall policy cleanup, validation testing, documentation, and evidence collection. Working under the direction of the Manager, Cybersecurity and Network, the role helps deliver risk reduction work across HPS sites while keeping changes controlled, documented, and validated.

Requirements

  • Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Intermediate TCP/IP networking: routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, wireless, and VPN/remote access
  • Experience with firewall administration and rule/policy review (SonicWall and/or FortiGate)
  • Strong understanding of network segmentation concepts and change control discipline
  • Previous network and security troubleshooting and diagnostic data collection experience
  • Understanding of or experience using a ticketing systems and technical documentation (ServiceDesk Plus or similar)
  • Basic security operations experience: log review, alert follow-up, and evidence collection
  • One or more of the following certifications are required: Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or SC-900, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Fortinet, SonicWall, Microsoft security tools, Auvik, AppGate, Taegis, or Umbrella is an asset
  • The following certifications would be preferred: Fortinet NSE 4 / FCP, SonicWall SNSA, CCNP (Enterprise or Security), Microsoft AZ-500 or SC-200 or similar certifications

Responsibilities

  • Support site-by-site network segmentation and the SonicWall to FortiGate firewall migration, including traffic and firewall rule review, rule and object cleanup, SonicWall documentation, FortiGate migration preparation, validation testing, and post-change checks.
  • Prepare ServiceDesk Plus change records, implementation notes, rollback steps, and post-change evidence under the direction of the Manager, Cybersecurity and Network.
  • Provide intermediate (Level 2) troubleshooting support for connectivity, VPN and remote access, wireless, firewall, routing and switching, and DNS/DHCP issues.
  • Work assigned tickets and alerts, collect diagnostic information, document findings, and escalate to senior analysts or vendors when needed.
  • Maintain network diagrams, VLAN and IP documentation, site and circuit information, firewall and VPN records, asset inventory, SOPs, and runbooks.
  • Keep test results, remediation trackers, and control evidence current to support audits, cyber insurance, KPI reporting, and security control validation.
  • Under supervision, support routine administration and evidence collection in approved platforms such as FortiGate/FortiManager, FortiSIEM, Auvik, AppGate, Taegis, Umbrella, Entra ID, Intune, and Purview.
  • Support access review preparation and firewall policy cleanup activities, with no unsupervised privileged access.
  • Support project trackers, meeting notes, KPI inputs, follow-up lists, validation testing, and post-implementation documentation for cybersecurity and network roadmap items.
