As an Inventory Control Analyst (Maintenance & Engineering), you'll play an important role in helping keep our Buffalo manufacturing plant running. By making sure our maintenance teams have the right parts, materials, and supplies when they need them, you'll help support the production of millions of Milk-Bone® treats enjoyed by dogs across the country. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys a mix of analytics, purchasing, inventory management, and relationship building. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional, analytical, purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, maintenance support, or related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed to support manufacturing operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, inventory control, purchasing, storeroom management, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), purchasing, or inventory management systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation processes.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience leading process improvements or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure maintenance and operations teams have the parts and materials needed to keep equipment running efficiently.
  • Purchase parts, materials, and services that support manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor inventory trends, usage patterns, and stock levels to help prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to support equipment reliability and planned maintenance activities.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service agreements with suppliers and contractors.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and system reconciliations.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify ways to improve inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate critical spare parts programs for existing and new manufacturing equipment.
  • Support shutdowns, special projects, and weekend work by ensuring materials and parts are available when needed.
  • Manage supplier-supported inventory programs, including consignment and vendor-managed inventory.
  • Track purchase orders and communicate order status, lead times, and material availability to key stakeholders.
  • Resolve invoice, pricing, and payment issues by partnering with suppliers and Accounts Payable.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Materials Coordinator as appropriate.
  • Create reports and analyze data to support inventory decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall inventory performance.
