About The Position

Our Claro CDI (Clinical Documentation Integrity) service offering is a holistic approach to accurate documentation that results in enhanced and sustainable CDI processes to fuel a hospital’s mission. The solution focuses on getting the record right across the continuum of care: Inpatient, Outpatient and Physician Office. The CDI Inpatient team partners with hospitals and health systems to ensure clinical documentation accurately reflects patient acuity, care complexity, and resource utilization. This work supports appropriate reimbursement, enhances compliance, and strengthens quality reporting. By ensuring clinical documentation captures the full scope of services and patient acuity, the team supports appropriate reimbursement, strengthens compliance, and enhances quality reporting.

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex clinical information and translate it into accurate coding and reimbursement documentation based on the patient acuity and complexity
  • Skilled in engaging physicians and clinical teams to promote documentation best practices and evaluate documentation across clinics and departments to ensure completeness and accuracy of the workflows and practices
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated to improving documentation integrity and hospital performance
  • 3+ years minimum of CDI experience
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams
  • Clinical credentials: RN preferred
  • CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) preferred
  • Deep knowledge of CDI principles, DRG structure, and regulatory documentation standards

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation specificity, completeness, and accuracy
  • Conduct chart reviews to ensure documentation accurately reflects the patient’s condition and the care provided
  • Collaborate with physicians, coding teams, and clinical leaders to identify documentation gaps, optimize workflows, and align practices with regulatory and coding standards, reimbursement, and coding integrity
  • Support education and process improvement initiatives that strengthen CDI effectiveness
  • Participate in quality control reviews, peer collaboration, and team development activities
  • Contribute to clinical education content, project-based initiatives, and ongoing knowledge sharing across the CDI team
