About The Position

As an Analyst, Tax (Cross Border Personal Tax) your responsibilities will include: Preparing and reviewing U.S. personal federal, state and Canadian tax returns. Compiling and reviewing file and workpaper documentation. Participating in tax planning and analysis of client issues. Responding to requests for information from Canada Revenue Agency and the IRS. Researching tax queries for clients and colleagues related to Canadian and US personal income tax, and the Canada-US tax treaty. Supervising and providing timely feedback to junior team members. Assisting managers with coordinating cross border tax compliance services for high-net-worth individual clients. Contributing to building our reputation as the preferred business advisors in key sectors of our growing practice.

Requirements

  • Accounting Diploma or Certificate
  • Relevant designation, or in pursuit of (e.g. Canadian or US CPA)
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in personal tax compliance
  • Strong focus on exceptional client service and relationships
  • Strong planning and time management skills, with ability to balance competing demands
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem solver with solid research and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and tax software applications, with ability to quickly grasp new technology tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members is considered an asset
