About The Position

The Analyst - FP&A Corporate is an entry-to-mid analyst role supporting the day-to-day execution of corporate financial planning and analysis activities across Barrick's North America platform. Reporting formally to the Manager - FP&A Corporate, with day-to-day direction provided by the Senior Analyst - FP&A Corporate, this role assists the Corporate FP&A team across budgets, forecasts, rolling outlooks, monthly and quarterly management reporting, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and inputs into executive, CFO, and Board pack materials for the North America operations. The Analyst helps collect and validate submissions from sites and corporate functions, maintains planning and reporting templates, schedules, and trackers, prepares charts, tables, and supporting analyses for Manager and Senior Analyst review, and performs reconciliations across SAP / ERP, OneStream, and reporting outputs to safeguard data integrity. The role supports the maintenance of Excel models, bridges, and Power BI / Tableau dashboards, coordinates inputs with site finance and corporate functions under guidance, and contributes to continuous improvement of templates, reporting workflows, and documentation that strengthen the speed, consistency, and quality of Corporate FP&A outputs.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field required.
1-3+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial reporting, accounting, business analysis, or data analytics; relevant internship or co-op experience considered for strong candidates.
Mining, metals, heavy industrials, or other multi-site operating environments preferred but not required.
Exposure to consolidated budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analysis, or executive-level reporting in a multi-entity environment is an advantage.
Familiarity with consolidation and planning platforms (OneStream preferred), ERP systems (SAP preferred), and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and working with structured datasets; experience with driver-based models, scenario / sensitivity analysis, or bridges / waterfalls preferred.
Demonstrated ability to handle and reconcile multi-source data, with a strong attention to accuracy and documentation.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables across overlapping cycles, with appropriate guidance.
Analytical curiosity and structured problem-solving instincts, with a willingness to dig into data and ask why.
High attention to detail, data integrity, and quality control discipline across models, schedules, and reporting outputs.
Solid Excel and financial modeling fundamentals, with developing capability in driver-based forecasting and scenario / sensitivity analysis.
Working knowledge of variance analysis fundamentals across volume, price, rate, timing, and one-time effects.
Clear, concise written and verbal communication, with the ability to draft schedules, commentary, and supporting materials for Senior Analyst and Manager review.
Developing systems and data literacy across consolidation, ERP, planning, and BI platforms; able to navigate, reconcile, and improve underlying data and outputs.

Responsibilities

Maintain corporate FP&A planning templates, schedules, calendars, and tracking logs across the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, rolling outlooks, and long-range planning cycles for Barrick's North America platform.
Collect and validate site and corporate function submissions, performing completeness and consistency checks against templates, instructions, and prior submissions, and flagging gaps or anomalies to the Manager and Senior Analyst.
Update consolidation schedules and supporting workings as inputs are received, refreshed, or revised through each cycle.
Assist with the consolidation of revenue, cost, capital, cash, headcount, and KPI inputs into a single corporate view under the direction of the Senior Analyst - FP&A Corporate.
Help prepare draft assumption and input summaries, calendars, and submission instructions for review by the Manager - FP&A Corporate.
Prepare monthly and quarterly Corporate FP&A reporting schedules on a disciplined cadence, including consolidated performance versus budget, forecast, prior period, and prior plan.
Perform actual versus budget, forecast, and prior period variance analysis, supporting basic driver analysis across volume, price, rate, timing, and one-time effects for Manager and Senior Analyst review.
Update KPI schedules and management metrics across planning and reporting outputs, applying consistent definitions, calculations, and presentation.
Maintain risk and opportunity logs and supporting analytics across cycles, ensuring entries are accurately captured, classified, and refreshed.
Support coordination of variance inputs from site finance teams and corporate functions, helping to ensure narratives are evidence-based and reconciled across reporting outputs.
Prepare charts, tables, backup schedules, and supporting data for inclusion in CFO, executive leadership, and Board pack materials, in line with the Corporate FP&A reporting calendar and Manager / Senior Analyst direction.
Apply quality checks across draft executive deliverables, including reconciliation of figures across schedules, internal logic checks, and alignment to approved assumptions and definitions.
Assist with backup analyses, pre-read schedules, and supporting workings that anticipate likely executive questions, for Senior Analyst and Manager review.
Support preparation of briefing materials, talking points, and supporting analytics ahead of executive and Board engagements.
Reconcile figures between source systems (SAP / ERP, OneStream, planning systems) and consolidated reporting outputs, helping to ensure data integrity, traceability, and audit readiness across reporting layers.
Validate master data, chart of accounts, hierarchies, and mapping logic used across planning and reporting cycles, surfacing inconsistencies for resolution.
Document data, mapping, and reconciliation issues encountered through each cycle, and track follow-up actions through to resolution.
Maintain version control and supporting documentation for planning and reporting models, schedules, and outputs.
Support FP&A Systems and Reporting on data quality issues, mapping changes, and reporting refinements as directed.
Maintain and update Excel models, driver-based schedules, bridges, and waterfalls supporting Corporate FP&A planning and reporting cycles.
Maintain and refresh Power BI and Tableau dashboards, trackers, and recurring reports that surface consolidated performance, KPIs, risks, and variance drivers.
Support automation and process improvements that reduce manual effort, accelerate cycle time, and improve the reliability of recurring outputs.
Apply structured analytical techniques to multi-source datasets, ensuring outputs are accurate, reproducible, and well documented.
Help collect budget and forecast inputs from corporate cost centre owners, including discretionary spend, headcount, and recurring cost categories.
Update headcount, vacancy, and compensation tracking schedules, reconciling against HR and ERP data sources as directed.
Prepare monthly variance schedules and accountability reporting drafts for corporate cost centres, surfacing risks, opportunities, and run-rate signals for the Manager and Senior Analyst.
Assist with periodic deep-dives on corporate spend categories and cost-to-serve analyses for central functions.
Communicate with site finance teams and corporate functions to collect inputs, clarify submissions, and resolve data and reporting questions under the guidance of the Senior Analyst and Manager.
Coordinate with Operations FP&A, Capital Controls, Planning & Evaluations, FP&A Systems, and Reporting to align inputs and outputs across cycles.
Engage with Strategy, Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, and HR business partners to gather required inputs and document assumptions across financial deliverables.
Document Corporate FP&A processes, checklists, and standard operating procedures, supporting auditable, repeatable, and scalable cycles.
Identify opportunities to improve Corporate FP&A templates, reporting workflows, dashboards, and documentation, and assist with implementing approved changes.
Help standardize KPI definitions, calculations, and presentation across planning and reporting outputs, in coordination with the Senior Analyst and Manager.
Support adoption of new tools, platforms, and analytical techniques across the Corporate FP&A team.
Build personal habits of attention to detail, accountability, and continuous learning within the Corporate FP&A team.
Support ad-hoc analysis, business cases, and decision-support work for the Manager - FP&A Corporate and Senior Analyst - FP&A Corporate, including capital allocation, value-creation, and business improvement initiatives.
Provide financial input into Strategy, Investor Relations, and external reporting workstreams as directed.
Other duties and projects as assigned by the Manager - FP&A Corporate to deliver on the team's objectives.
