Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or 6 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree
  • 2-years legal experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and independent decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year of industry experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program
  • Experience supporting a front office sales organization
  • Experience analyzing and negotiating contracts

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, negotiate, analyze, and discuss retail commodity contracts, confidentiality agreements, channel partner agreements, and other documents submitted for legal review in real time with internal and external stakeholders under moderate guidance from a supervising attorney.
  • Interpret and explain contractual terms, rights, and obligations to third parties, commercial teams, and functional groups.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to update contract templates based on regulatory changes and business needs.
  • Represent the retail legal department in meetings to educate, train, and develop or improve processes.
  • Execute direction provided by retail transactional attorneys and broader legal department leadership.
