Analyst/ Associate - RBC Rundle, Global Energy Investment Banking (Engineering & Geoscience)
About The Position
RBC Capital Markets is seeking a motivated and talented individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills for a full-time Analyst or Associate position within the RBC Rundle team in Calgary. This role is part of the Global Energy Investment Banking team, providing advisory services on corporate mergers, sales processes, asset divestitures, and joint venture negotiations. The position offers an opportunity to work on an extensive range of upstream and midstream advisory mandates, including asset characterization, economics and valuation, and preparation and marketing of opportunities to a global client base.
Requirements
- University degree in engineering, geology, or geophysics
- Relevant work experience in the oil and gas sector
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint and database management skills
- Ability to work independently and react to shifting priorities and changing timelines in a fast paced, dynamic team environment
- Strong and effective communicator with both internal and external audiences
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required
Nice To Haves
- Enrolment in or completion of a formal financial designation (i.e. CFA)
- Previous transaction advisory, capital markets or reserves evaluation / resource estimation experience
- Strong understanding of engineering evaluation software (i.e. ValNav or Mosaic)
- Advanced knowledge of GeoScout, Enverus or other mapping software
- Knowledge of Tableau or Power BI
