About The Position

The Analyst – Accounting, Investment Funds & Controls fills a versatile and pivotal role at Nymbus Capital. Combining general accounting (IFRS), fund accounting (including NAV controls), and compliance support, this position directly supports the CCO in maintaining the financial integrity and operational rigour of Canada’s only systematic, AI-driven fixed income manager. This posting is open to two configurations: a senior professional with deep accounting or fund management expertise who wants to contribute on a part-time basis; or a motivated junior candidate ready to build a career in asset management full-time, with solid general accounting and IFRS foundations.

Requirements

  • CPA designation obtained; 6 to 10+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or fund management.
  • Strong command of IFRS standards and proven experience preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Confirmed experience in investment fund accounting and/or NAV controls.
  • Autonomy, sound judgment, and the ability to contribute effectively in a part-time capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation (or in progress) is an asset.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in general accounting; exposure to the financial sector or fund management is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS standards and their practical application.
  • Interest or initial experience in fund accounting and/or NAV controls.
  • Rigour, intellectual curiosity, and an analytical mindset; comfortable in a scientific and dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual (French and English) — you will collaborate with partners outside Québec.
  • Resourceful and autonomous: you know how to find solutions and move forward independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the investment industry (an asset).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation (or in progress) is an asset.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in general accounting; exposure to the financial sector or fund management is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards across all company activities.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements under IFRS, including notes and disclosures.
  • Maintain general ledger, prepare closing entries, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and respond to their information requests.
  • Contribute to the calculation and validation process for fund Net Asset Value (NAV).
  • Perform NAV controls: price verification, reconciliation with the custodian and fund administrator.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, custodians, and external auditors.
  • Assess existing internal control processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Document key financial procedures and maintain an up-to-date control register.
  • Provide support for regulatory compliance activities under the supervision of the CCO.
  • Flag any identified gaps or risks in financial or operational processes to the CCO.
  • Assist in preparation for internal audits or regulatory reviews.
