About The Position

This course focuses on deepening university-level writing skills, covering all stages from idea generation to style correction. Through numerous exercises based on texts, students will enhance their analytical, structuring, argumentation, and writing abilities. This section is delivered in a synchronous virtual mode, with a weekly three-hour online session, and part of the course content available on Brightspace. However, the mid-term exam (week 6) and the final exam (date set by the registrar) will be conducted in person. Teaching and communication activities will be conducted remotely using digital tools (Teams, Brightspace, Microsoft Outlook, Wooclap, or equivalent interactive tools), requiring acquired or willingness to acquire digital competence. The course employs a 'flipped classroom' pedagogy, promoting active learning by first exposing students to theoretical content through self-study activities, followed by a structured lecture to clarify and deepen concepts. The syllabus (texts studied, session structure, and theoretical content) is predetermined. A professor's guide will be available before the session begins. Professors teaching this course must use the Brightspace 'toolkit' developed by the Department and SAEA and adhere to all points in the Guide for Faculty to ensure uniformity in evaluations and strict adherence to the pre-established schedule for all sections. Professors are responsible for a portion of the grading (according to established rules), overseeing grading by teaching assistants, and supervising teaching assistants during exam proctoring. Professors will need to perform usual tasks (preparing PowerPoint presentations, explanatory documents, answer keys, and participating in coordination team discussions) and must be able to manage a high volume of emails (with students, teaching assistants, the coordinator, and other professors teaching the same course). The course requires strong collaboration skills with the entire pedagogical team, especially given potentially tight deadlines. Professors must be available for scheduled virtual sessions and present in person for proctoring in-person exams.
