About The Position

The Analog Design Engineer will lead analog IP development and help deliver fully functional first-silicon designs through high-quality production. The role covers the silicon development lifecycle, from requirements and circuit architecture definition through lab bring-up, characterization, debugging, and post-silicon validation. The engineer will develop analog-block circuit designs based on microarchitecture specifications, write specifications, test plans, and characterization reports, and collaborate with chip design, system hardware and software, ATE, front-end, back-end, power/performance, functional verification, and post-silicon validation teams. The position requires ownership of circuit-design development and close teamwork to deliver designs on schedule and to quality and power/performance targets. Relevant design areas include high-speed, low-power I/O; high-speed clock paths; analog front ends; and data-conversion subsystems.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in analog IC design.
  • Deep understanding of transistor device characteristics.
  • Deep understanding of power, performance, and area trade-offs in mixed-signal designs.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-performance designs in high-volume production for low-power applications.
  • Knowledge of analog IC design flows and tools.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with diverse groups across the company.
  • Excellent social and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on design expertise in one or more of the following: high-speed, low-power I/O circuit design; high-speed clock paths; analog front ends; or data-conversion subsystems.
  • Strong initiative, ownership, and productivity.
  • Ability to work well in a team and remain productive under tight schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced FinFET CMOS processes.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D.; a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering is also listed.

Responsibilities

  • Specify requirements and circuit architecture for analog blocks and IP sub-blocks.
  • Develop circuit designs for IP analog blocks according to established design guidelines and microarchitecture specifications.
  • Own all aspects of circuit-design development.
  • Collaborate with other designers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver designs on time and with high quality.
  • Work with front-end and back-end teams to ensure quality analog integration.
  • Work with power/performance and functional verification teams to define and validate operation sequences.
  • Incorporate appropriate checks throughout the design process.
  • Support lab bring-up, characterization, and debugging.
  • Write specifications, test plans, and characterization reports.
  • Work with chip design, system hardware and software design, and ATE product engineering teams.
  • Work with post-silicon validation teams to ensure designs meet power and performance targets.
