About The Position

An Amine Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring the flows, pressure, and specifications of a Glycol and Amine Processing Plant. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of the plant, including proper adjustments of operating conditions and process troubleshooting. The operator will optimize processing throughout the facility, maintain proper product specifications, and respond to alarms and problems within the plant, making appropriate corrections. Responsibilities also include safely performing plant startup, shutdown, and responding to plant emergencies, as well as maintaining logs and monitoring field compressor status through SCADA. Coordination of maintenance, management of change, and procedure updates are also key aspects of this role. The operator must implement all plant Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security procedures, monitor safety performance, and wear all required PPE.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Amine Plant Operator experience required.
  • 1+ years of Lease Operator experience required.
  • In-depth understanding of upstream facilities including but not limited to: separation, pumping, gathering, tankage, LACT sales, metering, and compression.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid US Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility and fit for duty.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plant facilities and various equipment/systems including Glycol and Amine processing plant, process controls and measurement, pumps, pressure relief system instrument air system, dehydrators, fuel system, emergency shutdown systems, gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, gas-fired boilers, process pumps, amine treating systems.
  • Ensure safe, efficient operation of the plant, including proper adjustments of operating conditions and process troubleshooting.
  • Optimize processing throughout the facility and maintain proper product specifications.
  • Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and make appropriate corrections.
  • Safely perform plant startup, shutdown, and respond to plant emergencies.
  • Maintain established plant or equipment logs.
  • Perform lock out/tag out procedures and may monitor field compressor status through the use of SCADA.
  • Coordinate maintenance, manage change, and update procedures.
  • Implement all plant Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security procedures such as emergency response, safe work procedures, Spill Prevention, Countermeasures, and Control (SPCC) reporting and monitoring environmental compliance and wear all required PPE.
  • Monitor safety performance of plant and non-plant personnel and correct deficiencies as appropriate.
