Help coastal North Carolina recover from Hurricanes Matthew and Florence by serving with AmeriCorps! Coastal Carolina Disaster Resiliency Agency (CCDRA) continues the mission of the Craven County Disaster Recovery Alliance (CCDRA), a Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) formed after Hurricane Matthew impacted Eastern North Carolina in October 2016. Launched in January 2017 with support from FEMA Volunteer Agency Liaisons, the alliance brought together corporations, faith-based organizations, nonprofits, government entities, and community members to address recovery needs in Craven County. SBP, a social impact organization focused on disaster resilience and recovery, solves the challenges facing at-risk communities and scales impact with a proven model that brings the rigor of business and innovation to reduce risk, create resilient communities and streamline recovery. By taking this holistic approach, SBP shrinks the time between disaster and recovery. SBP does this in three connected ways—prepare, shape and build. 1. SBP prepares individuals, communities and organizations to mitigate risk and speed recovery. 2. SBP shapes federal policy and system change and state and local disaster recovery programs to be more efficient and effective. 3. SBP builds resilient communities efficiently and effectively and shares our proven model and approach with others. COVID-19 Safety Statement: While COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are highly encouraged, they are not mandatory for SBP team members at this time. However, SBP strongly recommends that all team members stay current with vaccinations and boosters, which remains one of the best ways to protect themselves, their colleagues, and the clients we serve.
