About The Position

Serve with AmeriCorps at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County to build sustainable solutions in the community while gaining valuable hands-on construction and leadership experience. As an AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader, you’ll play an integral part in building and repairing homes by leading groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. This is a full-time, 10.5-month national service role, ideal for someone exploring a career in construction, leadership, people management, or community impact. You’ll gain hands-on experience in construction and volunteer management while receiving professional development support, a housing allowance, and an education award. If you’re passionate about housing justice, eager to learn, and motivated to make a measurable difference, this AmeriCorps role offers both impact and career-building experience. AmeriCorps is a national service program, similar to a public service fellowship. Members commit to one year of service with a nonprofit or public organization that addresses the root causes of poverty. In this role, you would serve as an AmeriCorps member placed at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, supported by Habitat for Humanity International.

Requirements

  • Be 18 or older
  • Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
  • Commit to the full 10.5 months of service
  • Pass required background checks
