This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position for an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide 1:1 student support in a Post-Secondary Program. The interpreter will accompany a deaf student throughout the day, interpret spoken language, work with the classroom teacher to interpret instruction and follow the student's IEP, and tutor the student individually in various learning activities. The role also involves reinforcing concepts, assisting the teacher in monitoring student behavior, acting as a role model, and interpreting at parent conferences or other meetings as necessary. The interpreter will translate all appropriate activities in the classroom and other educational settings into sign language, including discussions, films, special projects, assemblies, field trips, and athletic activities.
