About The Position
Cedar Ridge School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid interpreter’s license issued by the Arkansas Department of Health
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Hold at least a 3.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Hold at least a Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) 3/3 (transliterating /interpreting)
Nice To Haves
- Previous educational interpreting preferred
Responsibilities
- Interpret oral communication into sign language in classes
- Facilitate communication among students, classroom teachers, and other personnel in the school district.
- Convey the content of the message clearly and accurately according to the receptive language level of the student.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
